Egress Station takes place aboard an interstellar spaceship called A.E., which has been traveling for years without rest or food supply due to engine failure on its last mission, leaving them stranded in space with no means of propulsion but their trusty ship. The crew consists mainly of teenagers and the captain is a young girl named Nara who dreams big while trying not be seen as impetuous by her more level-headed first mate/boyfriend Bill. They face many challenges including lack of food, fuel or water supply; low morale due to boredom without any mission plan in mind; fights over control during long periods with limited resources and power outages from a lightning strike that temporarily blinded the ship's navigation system on its last journey home before they were stranded here after their engines failed.
