The Daydream Playbook is a short story about an abandoned child who has grown up to become the main
character. The protagonist struggles with finding out his identity and escaping controlling
relationships inspired by Galatea's myth of Pygmalion, but ultimately finds solace in love after
realizing that he was made for someone else (Galaite) while also being able to be himself without
judgment or expectations placed on him as a result from the living beings around. The story is about
finding true self-love and escaping controlling relationships through personal growth outside of
societal norms, inspired by myths such as Galatea's tale in Greek mythology involving Pygmalion
seeking his love out into society after he rejected her handiwork for himself due to jealousy
towards other men who were more handsome than him.
