The Evils of Illmire is an adventure module set in the wilderness region surrounding Lake Tahoe, California. It includes dangerous wildlife and treacherous terrain as well as a dark cult that seeks power from deep within its mountain stronghold. Players must navigate these dangers to uncover secrets buried beneath layers of danger before they can reach their final goal: retrieving powerful magic artifacts hidden by an ancient sorcerer who once held control over the entire region centuries ago, but whose body was left in this place for his own protection long since dead and forgotten.[11]
