Grimoire
You are one such individual and you seek to create a grimoire of spells and magic to rival the casters of old.   Creating spells and books to hold them is both difficult and dangerous, while most mages stuff their tomes with spells and recipes named after and perfected by great workers of magic there are those who seek to truly study the bounds of magic and know how to shape its power. These individuals are not content to simply cast the perfected spells of wizards thousands of years dead, but to create spells themselves and tweak existing ones into new forms.
