ASCII Empires involves players building and interacting with early Mediterranean civilizations through history while advancing science and culture using text-based visuals inspired by a 1967 character encoding standard.The gameplay consists of rolling dice, making progress in various fields marked on Empire sheets, trading resources or invading neighboring territories during brief rounds of diplomacy ending when game conditions are met (points calculated), the player with most points wins as per an interactive tutorial provided online to learn how play it.
