HonorBound is an old-school duel game that revolves around honor culture, masculinity, and a high
stakes event where players act as seconds for each other's characters during challenging situations
like fist fights or sword duels on their family homesteads in isolated regions of the Western United
States. The game takes two hours to play with an additional workshop section beforehand that will
help set up your background, and a "challenge" is issued at any point after which each player must
defend themselves until they can safely leave without revealing it publicly for others' safety
reasons. Once you've established the incident triggering this duel on their respective homesteads or
in town meetings while working as deputy sheriff, play starts with players struggling to de-escalate
a tense situation before entering weapons and ground rules of engagement; range is an issue which
can escalate quickly from one fight to another until it reaches its final stage where all
participants step aside for the judge. This project was started by Randy Lubiin in 2017 via his
Patreon page with further distribution through Dripsource, after he met Jason Morningstar on a game
development forum and realized their shared passion around honor culture games like this one; both
men are currently working to create new projects together while sharing profits equally.
