Spells are made by drawing playing cards and following the associated drawing and writing prompts. The writing prompts determine what the spell does and the drawing prompts help you make an abstract drawing to represent it! Games can take a couple of hours in an evening or be played bit-by-bit over the course of a month. The spell creation tables can even be incorporated into other games, making the possibilities endless! All you need to play is: something to draw/write on, something to draw/write with, and playing cards or playing card alternatives.
