The player takes on Dorothy's role as she searches for her kidnapped sister, Queen Ozma of Emerald City who has been taken prisoner by a wicked witch named Glinda the Good Witch (who disguises herself). She must navigate through treacherous terrain including dangerous forests and haunted houses in search of their lost queen. Throughout these perilous journeys they encounter various obstacles such as cyclones on sea-like storms or holes that threaten to engulf them, but ultimately succeed in rescuing Ozma from captivity at a dark castle guarded by the witch's familiar monsters named Gumpus (a large green creature) and Pookah Queenie (an evil queen). The game includes puzzles with intricate mazes as well. - Dark Designs In Verdigris is inspired by Dungeons & Dragons, World of Darkness, Offworlderes RPG series created for the original PC generation in 1980s - 1990s' era when gaming was not mainstream yet but people were looking back at games from those days that influenced their lives and careers later on.
