Obscure Tales is an tabletop roleplaying game set in medieval times, featuring noble-bright characters with customizable personalities and backgrounds who can choose their actions based off of multiple choices during play rather than character design as a whole. This system provides many opportunities to create unique gameplay experiences for players through the use of magic spells, skillsets or weapons that are determined by experience points spent on abilities instead of class/playbook systems found in most roleplaying games today. Many characters will have magical powers and some can learn these via art forms such as geomancy, wound-weaving, enchantment and skill mastery to name a few examples which is reflected through the game's mechanics where success or failure are not solely determined by statistics on paper but rather based off of choices made during gameplay leading up to that outcome.
