The game is set on an alternate Earth with a similar solar system, planet-sized versions of all land masses (except for Greenland and Antarctica), oceans/rivers & streams flowing through them just like earth's lakes but the climate was colder in this world too. The creatures that live here are almost exactly as you find on our current Earth - except they lack trees to have wood with which make fire, or food grown underground similar to potatoes; instead plants grow from dirt mixed into a paste-like substance & animals eat it directly like humans do when we cook meat over the fires at home. Humans still live here too but are lazy and complacent (unaware of what their evil leaders in this world have been doing). The planet is governed by these people's servants, who happen to be mostly mad scientists hired for a sinister conspiracy aimed killing 99% of its population so they can possess all the resources on the land.
