Love & Darkness is a storytelling game about families — whether they're an oil dynasty, a fantasy kingdom, a found family of post-apocalyptic survivors, a band of refugees, or your suburban neighbors. As you play, you’ll talk about the members of the family you create, explore their various and often conflicting desires, and narrate their relationships both with each other and with the people, places, and things around which their lives revolve. Rather than take the role of any particular character, each player is responsible for the family as a whole, and may find themselves talking about various different people at different points along the way. Together, you’ll paint a picture of a family and its changes across a span of time. But don’t look for neat endings; families are messy — expect their stories to be the same.
