PbtA is a genre of tabletop roleplaying games that has different sub-genres such as "Mainstream," Cutting edge and even Subgenre/Fringe like Conservative Games or Expansive ones with some fringe groups in between but it also consists of 6 small games Mobile Frame Zero, Midsummer Wood, The Sundereld Land, the True & Preposterous Journey of Half a Foal, Spin the Beetle as well as other ideas. Pbta is not just about playing moves and stats like playbook or musical genre; instead "play to find out" means you play with what it has in mind which guides players into new places rather than sticking too closely following set formulaic guidelines such as having a movebook, stats sheet etc..
