The Black Oak is a solo GMless journaling game for investigative journalists trying to solve an unusual murder case set against the backdrop of rural Oregon, featuring elements inspired by Safe and Also No Fear in addition to original music from Slaughter Beach Dog's Chris Bissette. The player assumes the role as Jake Ewald who works at Black Oak Investigations before being let go due to a lack of meaningful work for months on end with increasing bills that threaten his crumbling apartment situation, leading him towards desperation until he stumbles upon this page and is intrigued by it in some way or another!
