The zine is an art-free edition of Pariah, a roleplaying game for the wilderness setting in which
players create characters and navigate dangerous terrain while discovering new cultures within their
realm to survive without mechanical tools or stat rolls. The emphasis on player skill over character
skills encourages creativity among GMs who can craft unique stories based around challenges that
arise from environmental interactions such as hiking mountainsides, fishing riverside pools with
ropes made of vines hung for support, and hunting animals trapped in the wild using traps set by
unknown parties after darkening skies bring an end to daylight. The game also features a magical
system where characters must navigate between realms while discovering hidden secrets within ancient
ruins or creating their own traditions from afresh encounters that can either lead them down
unexpected paths of exploration like ghouls, Jackavels and Blood Drinkers in the same area as
creatures who possess no names but whose desires are still felt by all living things. The game's
tools allow for easily adapting to other old school systems with six ability scores representing
strength (STR), dexterity (DEX), intelligence (INT) health points or hit dice, plus five saving
throws and abilities that can be chosen from various categories such as magic-users who use their
spells in unpredictable ways at the end of every round.
