Librete is a tabletop role-playing game for children in which they assume roles as refugees trying to survive without adults or adult supervision in the dystopian world of The City where rain never stops, gangs roam and devour any new arrivals seeking shelter from Sirains that lurk. With Player Archetypes ranging from survivalist hunters with combat skills to social workers providing aid to struggling families, players must work together as a community while navigating obstacles such as lack of resources or mistrust among different refugee groups in order for their stories to be heard and represented through the game's mechanics--such as drawing on real-world examples like The New York Times' coverage of unaccompanied immigrant children.
