Royal Blood is an RPG for three or more players, where the player takes on a roleplaying character in 19th century America and uses their skills to become wealthy through crime, while also being cunning enough not get caught by police officers who are aware of them stealing from others. It's designed as rules-light heist game with simple mechanics such as card draw during gameplay and has elements that have been used before like the tarot deck cards in a similar style roleplaying games to create an immersive experience for players, adding more depth or complexity into it by introducing additional features later on. The story is set up within these two characters: "a young adventurer from New York City who dreams of becoming rich and famous through crime" (Player 1) but soon finds that the city has its own plans in store to catch them with a police officer working undercover at their location, creating tension between all three players' actions.
