"Stories of Astonish" is a point-and-click adventure game where the player takes on various roles as they travel through different parts of China, encountering strange events along their journey to fulfill important missions or goals that have been set by themselves and/or other characters in previous playthroughs. The setting features scenic landscapes inspired from Chinese painting traditions with influences such as "The Journey" series written by John Harper which is one way the game has influenced its creation process. Additionally, references are made on several of these paintings being mentioned within different sections or events throughout this adventure, further cementing how much each artist and their works have played a part in shaping an even more complete story with multiple influences incorporated into it!
