The game is set in Smalltown, a fictional town where animals live and have been for six hundred generations since the county opened up to fracking. Humans come into town after discovering fire from other planets, leading some groups of critters (such as those who are not comfortable helping others) out of their comfort zones by forming coalitions with each other through various means such as running scores or competing against rival gangs like in Blades In The Dark. There will be setting and theme changes compared to the original game while still maintaining similar gameplay elements, requiring a copy of Blades in the Dark if you want more information on how those rules work together before playing this unofficial expansion named Eat Trash Be Free!
