In And Then There Was a Time, you are an author who is writing about your life as if it were happening right now with no past or future self present in the story to guide them and provide context for their actions. The characters will be friends that appear throughout the game's timeline until they disappear after one player takes over another character at the end of a round, creating an interesting dynamic between players who may not know each other prior to starting this shared experience together as strangers immersed within these fictional worlds in which there is no need for past tense or future events.
