My Mother's Kitchen is a solo journaling game where players write about their family traditions and use the power of cooking to create memories. The player takes on various roles including different eras in time as they cook through trials and tribulations, using tarot cards inspired by tabletop role-playing games (TRPGs) such as Dungeons & Dragons (D&D), Fantasy Flight Games' Minis: The Realm RPG system or Zine Quest's Zeninz. The player can also create their own playsets with the game's recipe card building mode, and swap out different tarot cards to use in creative storytelling sessions that evolve over time as they play through a new TTRPG-inspired format called "ZiNQuest."
