In Couriers, two players are courierns who work as bounty hunters tasked with hunting down aberrant duplicants (artificial humans) that have turned against their human masters in a high-tech city where they exist alongside the real people of this world. The Courier's orders include killing any rogue copies until an abnormality is detected, which results in them being marked for retirement themselves and possibly killed off by another player later on to save time or because he feels it
