In the world of BTE, players take on roles as Dragoon mech pilots who work for a corporation known as Dragons' Roost. They engage in war-like battles with other corporate forces to acquire contracts worth more money than they would receive through their own contract brokerings alone (hence "Dragoon"). Players can customize and build almost any type of mech using the streamlined system within BTE, where customization is key for personal expression. The game utilizes a dice rolling mechanic similar to ViBe System with percentile dice or 2d10 rolled against attribute/skill rolls during gameplay that players must achieve certain scores in order not be eliminated by their opponents (usually bosses). DJ Jason Skye has created an exclusive playlist specifically designed and ready for use when playing Beneath Twisted Earth, where GMs can set the tone to music.
