The player takes on a role of an AI drone named Kai-34 who is being piloted at night in heavy rain conditions inside their base camp near Orex Nine, which serves as the main character's home. They are trying to sleep but they keep hearing footsteps outside and decide not too worry until morning when it will be revealed that the guards have been replaced by "Mechs". * The new pilot must earn Kai-34 trust through storytelling about their deceased former crewmate who was a close friend of both players, before being captured in action on Orex Nine during one of the player's previous missions. This storyline is established and played out over several days with various events that can influence how much time passes between them becoming reunited again inside Kai-34 for an adventure to save their fellow comrades from certain doom while battling a hostile alien race who have invaded Earth in large numbers, forcing humanity into hiding on the moon as well: Orex Nine. * After this long story is concluded and it's finally revealed that guards are replaced by "Mechs", Kai-34 doesn't want to reveal their identity immediately but rather they wait until they know if any of them would be willing to take a step back from the fight, just for her sake or both theirs
