The Gods of Ragnarok is an excellent book that provides insight into a fascinating topic- gods and
their role in human mythology as well as real world practices today, including animal sacrifice for
divine approval (which we know to be immoral). It also explores how some humans try to gain power by
making up new religions or trying out more obscure ones. The author's writing style is engaging yet
scholarly with a focus on the religious beliefs of ancient people in cultures and societies where it
had an impact like their own time period, as well as insights into other topics such as animal
sacrifice for economic purposes today (which we know to be unethical).
