Throwing Wrenches is a tool for generating random dialogue lines to drop as oblique mentions of character deep lore, such as "I haven't been back to Winnipeg since the big ceiling fan scandal." — "Is that Zuha? I haven't seen her since we crashed that retirement party." — "I haven't chopped firewood since the vampire guild banned it." Uses a D4, D10, and D20. Roll (or just pick) to fill in the second half of a prompt and its details. It's kind of madlibs with dice. Tables for both modern and fantasy settings. Includes a page of blank tables you can fill with your character's actual backstory. Screenreader-friendly version in the works.
