At the very edge of the world, built atop a sheer cliff, high above the roiling sea, stands a magic library… You are the Brave Spartan, a magical statue charged with guarding the world's greatest literary collection. Whenever a threat approaches, you awaken and put in motion a plan to protect the library and the friends who run it. Brave Spartan was written as a demonstration of SPAR, a simple design pattern for solo journaling games. To play, you'll need three six-sided dice, some paper, a writing implement, and lots of imagination. Each round, you'll roll to establish the nature of the threat, decide what to risk in opposing it, then roll again to determine the results.
