A Rasp of Sand is a rogue-lite adventure built on the skeleton of Knave, requiring access to its
system or another similar game for play. The story revolves around an ocean spirit's grief and anger
over his family sacrificing young heirs in return for their ancestor bringing them back from
drowning at sea each 25 years as long ago they had sacrificed themselves there before going into a
deep sleep that only awakened after the current generation dies, hoping to restore balance between
past good deeds done. You will fail this time but gain knowledge of your ancestors' sacrifices and
pass it onto future heirs in an ever-changing temple environment where depths mirror ecosystems with
new threats as well as unique puzzles for you and other players to solve together or individually
depending on the depth's secrets hidden deep below sea level, all while ensuring that a Rasp event
does not need any underwater combat knowledge. Treasure chests of powerful artifacts are kept within
these mysterious layers waiting to be uncovered by your family members' inquisitive minds when they
ascend into leadership roles each generation after their predecessors have passed away for good
deeds done and hopes restored in the temple's ever-shifting depths, with you as a player able to
keep knowledge acquired from one heir over another.
