In this story, the main character is a waitress named Scarlet who works at a busy restaurant in Los Angeles called "The Flame". One day she gets into an accident with her car and ends up crashing onto one of their tables during dinner service on Christmas Eve night. She wakes up to find herself transported back to medieval times where she discovers that this year has seen the rise of the undead, zombies! As a waitress in 1920s LA who is still working at The Flame restaurant as Carol (not Scarlet), it's her job to try and prevent any accidents before they happen so no one gets hurt. However, when people start falling asleep on their watch during shifts or she starts hallucinating visions about being rescued by the undead after getting into an accident with a customer, everything goes wrong for The Flame restaurant!
