Peculiar Children is an adventure game set on a dystopian world where you take control as different types of children with supernatural abilities who are often left alone and unprotected by society due to their peculiarities, which make them targets for dangerous organizations like pseudo- scientists or ignorant mobs. You navigate the dangers through your unique powers while making decisions that determine how each child's story plays out in a turn-based system based on dice rolling mechanics with bankable points added when you succeed at tasks and can spend these to use peculiar abilities, such as telekinesis for moving heavy objects around or pyro ability control. The game is set against the backdrop of Ran Som Riggs' photograph collection that depicts unique individuals from various backgrounds struggling in an ever-changing world devoid of understanding towards their differences due to societal pressures and prejudices they faced growing up with peculiarities, including telepathy, precognition or even levitation abilities making them stand out.
