Snails contain multitudes. In my snail races, most snails intend to arrive together at the end, whether or not there’s some kind of winner (sometimes there are winners… but even that winning can be very inclusive). At the heart of this game are two things (like two sides to the hermaphrodism that snails are), snails like to be intensely introverted and they like to go slowly.
