Alone Among Trees is an unsettling solo horror game where players must navigate a dense forest while lost in their thoughts about fear of death/abandonment and the unpleasant sensations they feel as time ticks by until help arrives or it's too late for that matter. The player character is on his own, surrounded only with creepy noises around him - eerie birdsong sounds like warning signals to impending doom, rot-smelling soil becomes a rotting mass in their shoes after walking through damp trees and the forest itself seems alive as if trying to trap them there forever while they feel increasingly anxious about being lost. The game's themes explore fear of death/abandonment, unpleasant sensations experienced throughout gameplay with no hope for escape or resolution; however its tone is desperate-gloomy & dark leading players on a journey through their own minds before ultimately succumbing in the end -
