HiReling is a hack of dungeon crawler games that combines elements from popular titles such as CaiRN (with its focus on daily life), Electric Building Blocks Land by Chris McDowell, Into The Obscure Dungeons! By Wulfen and CaiRRa. It features one-shot adventure stories in the form of a game where players are hired to explore dungeons containing both treasure and danger but ultimately face risk for their own safety due to limited resources like time spent exploring versus spending on equipment or food, with 10 min exploration turns utilizing an encounter table based off monster stats from Into The Odd by Chris McDowell. HiReling uses dark fantasy elements such as darkness in the dungeon that must be navigated through without light and a risk of losing willpower if too much is consumed quickly to keep up with time progression.
