Blackbirds is an adventure game that takes place between dreams and reality in the mind of its player character who creates their own unique world with skills they can assign to various aspects such as power or anima among others, which affect how well-equipped characters become when adventuring. The guidebook provides a full range experience from starting out creating one's first character through interacting with people/places/things and becoming attuned to them while also discovering the different areas that skills are associated in order for each skill point they receive as an increase of their overall power, eventually finding themselves on adventure using this magical system. The guidebook is a visual representation of characters' adventures within dreams or reality where there can be obstacles not easily overcome with predetermined solutions but by utilizing one's own mind and imagination through the use of magic between themselfs (the author) as well as their player character in order to solve problems encountered while adventuring which they themselves may fail, thus requiring a guidebook for guidance.
