Excclusion Zone Botanist is a solo botanical sketching game that involves crawling in hexes, using your imagination to create and discover plants within the "Exclusion" zone of Lovecraftian themes such as insects or mutated animals emerging from trees, creating creepy plant-like monstrosities. The player takes on an ennihilistic approach by exploring their surroundings without any sense for danger but always aware that every move they make carries potential consequences; this is accompanied with a set number and types of dice representing "bad" random variables to increase the feeling like you're in control, while also making it hard as nails. The game has been praised for its creativity despite being an indie-made piece without much exposure or fan base at present time but definitely worth looking into if interested on such horror sci fi themed games and art/drawing inspirations alike!
