What follows is an actual bit of childlore from my own elementary school. Upon visiting again years later, I found myself strongly cautioned by the children when I dared use that bathroom. How long the warning of "Mary in the fourth stall" had been around before I attended, I don't know. All I know is that the legend of Mary endures long past those who first spoke of her.
