Firelights is a minimalist role-playing game where the player character takes on the persona of an adventurer traveling through dangerous and mysterious worlds in search for treasure or to defeat evil enemies. The gameplay involves taking actions such as walking, attacking monsters/enemies with weapons obtained from various sources like shops located at certain points throughout each world map based upon a random set number generator (RNG). Additionally players can upgrade their character's gear using materials found during exploration of the worlds and purchase equipment in designated areas to enhance abilities for better overall gameplay. Players must explore different environments, fight enemies with unique attributes or create new ones themselves which are programmed into game files that increase difficulty levels as player progresses through a world map while maintaining consistent story
