The players are in a tabletop miniature roleplaying game set on an alien world called Petiitioners of Zed, where they play the roles of ten playable species from across space that have been stranded without their home worlds after being caught by erratic orbits and plunged back into eternal darkness. They must navigate this strange place filled with creatures like fearsome bog witches in search for valuable knowledge or power before it is lost to them again due to further plunging events happening at an unpredictable rate around the doomed planet Zed, that's also a mysterious swamp full of unknown spirits lurking there waiting for something important to happen and become more dangerous. The game has several elements such as dice system used when resolving actions, calamity-fueled encounters in alien bog environment, haunted Bog Witch who holds their deepest secrets on her back with them hoping someone may come out alive from Zed's horror stories or the 50 item table of lost artifacts where they find valuable items like unusual weapons and more.
