Inspired by the funerary practices of certain cultures to place coins on the eyes of the dead, the Cyclopean Obols were created to keep portals to dark dimensions sealed. Crafted from precious metals and imbued with powerful magics, the coins keep the gateways sleeping but also attract those seeking magical power at any cost... The Cyclopean Obol was created for the 2023 CoinSides Adventure Sparks Jam. It is system-agnostic, and can be inserted into any campaign that allows for the existence of magic, supernatural forces, and extraplanar travel.
