In this scenario for Jex Thomas' Bump in the Dark series book, BuMP is trapped by an evil spirit at Hotel Blackwood who has come to life as a villainous bellhop with supernatural abilities that are revealed when they start killing other hotel guests. The group must fight their way out of the demonic trap and rescue one of them from being murdered for no reason while escaping before another murder occurs, all without revealing too much about how BuMP is immune or why Hotel Blackwood has a curse on it as well because this information will make readers feel like they're in control. The book comes with double-sided trifolds that include everything the group needs to know and more than 100 interior illustrations by popular artist Jeff Hartman, who also illustrated several of Thomas's other books for kids while working at CPM Publishing from 2000 until 2005 when he tragically passed away aged 24 after a motorcycle accident.
