Saga's of The Icelanders is an Apocalypse World game set in the year 8744 when Viking settlers arrived on Icelandic lands, free to settle down without rulers' pressure and escape war, poverty or political oppression; players play as one such settler during this time period between 9th-10th centuries. They must choose whether their freedom outweighs honouring tradition/family lives over theirs while encountering hard social norms that lead into bloody feuds for survival of the winter season in a harsh environment with limited resources and no help from other settlers or gods, forcing them to forge new societal structures through storytelling as they build this veritable Saga.
