The Writer in Darkness is an immersive horror RPG where players play as either "The Player" or the storyteller (often referred to by their pen name) - whichever one you choose. It takes inspiration from both Lovecraft's works, and features letters between two characters trapped together within a town plagued with dangers that only grow more severe over time; while The Writer advises his companion on how best to survive in such an environment or provides him/her advice about the world they find themselves embroiled in (all whilst writing them further stories). There is also impairment system where each day, their health deteriorates and there are various original threats for players including Skin Thieves that steal your skin; Mouldmes who come from deep underground waters filled with dark creatures threatening to eat people's souls if not disposed of properly.
