The primary actors are the familiar chess pieces (Pawn, Rook, Knight, Bishop, Queen, and King) with their traditional movement capabilities except that none of them can move more than two spaces nor jump spaces without assistance. The print-and-play rulebook includes the basic rules, full movement details for each piece (dismounted, riding a Jumper, and riding a Charger), cut-out tokens for mounts (8 Jumpers and 8 Chargers per side), rules for two variants of HORSEMAN'S CHESS, and instructions for recording games in algebraic notation if desired. HORSEMAN'S CHESS requires a standard chess set and the included cut-out tokens.
