The lines on the cards represent the storylines in your mythos, with stories ending and starting anew as you play the game. Here's an overview of all of the cards from my proof copy of the game: Gameplay Overview & Demo Playable Digital Tabletop The digital files include a fully playable version of the game with all of the core cards that you need to play the game in the digital tabletop playingcards. Players choose one at the start of the game to construct the framework of their anthology.
