MIRAGE VARIATION (ORIGINAL VERSION) AND CONVERSATIONAL INTERVIEW WITH HYNOKOKOJI FROM THE DISCOVERY GROUPThis is a transcript of an interview with Hi-no Kōji, the creator and designer behind Mira Variation. In this conversation, they discuss their process for creating games that are inspired by various topics or themes such as time loops in video game design or popular culture references like Star Wars: The Force Awakens' lightsaber saber combat system from a different perspective through a first person shooter camera angle to create an interactive experience within the story of Mira. They also talk about their inspiration for creating games, including horror and action-adventure elements mixed with puzzle solving mechanics in game design that are influenced by his own life experiences as well as family history related topics such as WWII during which he played video arcade machines made out of wood or plastic to create a feeling similar like playing real military weapons.
