Watch of the Gargoyles is a tabletop RPG that allows players to simulate living as gargoyle monsters and protect towns through their actions in-game. Players draw cards from standard playing decks, create entries using prompts detailing events happening around them or specific encounters with other characters they come across during gameplay. The game can be played solo or by two people passing letters back and forth between the pair of players sharing this experience together as one group effort to protect their respective towns in any way necessary while simultaneously simulating a gargoyle's existence through cards, written entries, dice rolls, etc., depending on which version is chosen for play.
