"So then as for the third question of, should we do so, should we make machines that are conscious and that are moral agents, to that, my answer is, no, we should not. Because long before we get to the point where a machine is a moral agent, we will have machines that are capable of suffering." - Author, Ted Chiang
The Cabinet of RZ6W2L is a tabletop role-playing adventure for any sci-fi setting. Players enter the mind of the A.I. RZ6W2L to obtain something of value. Digital interface, psychedelics, magic doors: all possibilities on how you got there.
Using imagery inspired by the German expressionist film The Cabinet of Dr. Cailigari I tried to shape a broken psychological landscape. What happens to artificial intelligence bereft of purpose? What would it want? What would it sound like? What would happen if we opened the final doors and looked inside after what we had done to it?
This module is missing many of the details found in other adventures (stat blocks, maps, items, etc.), but I hope that tone and character of RZ6W2L will be of some use to you -- even if only to haunt your dreams for a night.
