Jack Kills Giants
Jack Kills Giants is an adventure role-playing card and dice game set within a fantasy gig economy where players create their own characters, hunt giant creatures using coins that can be traded for rewards such as extra experience points or gold with which they purchase goods from merchants in the city. The goal of the player's character to become skilled enough at hunting giants is balanced against survival skills required by living on the street and making a profit selling various items including potions, weapons, armor, food etc., while also facing dangers like random encounters that may lead them into dangerous situations such as wild animals or rival hunters for bounties. Players create their own stories through character creation in which they choose names of characters from an extensive list covering every kind you can imagine and then play the game by creating a new persona with backgrounds, professions (such as thief), skillsets, abilities etc., using dice rolls to determine what type monster is out there hunting them or if it's just their imagination running wild. The book also contains random tables for various tasks such as tracking down bounties in different areas of town and even tips on how much coin they should be looking at when buying from merchants who will sell anything you want, regardless the quality (and sometimes not so good) to anyone willing buy them a tonne
