A new gameplay expansion called "Bloodwork" has been added in the form of Bloodworks, a mechanic that requires players to inject themselves with blood and other substances into their veins at specific intervals throughout battles. The more BLOOD they have on hand or injected during combat, the less damage they take from incoming fire until all four limbs are fully covered in glowing liquid (although this can be mitigated by consuming large amounts of iron). When a merc loses enough BLOOD to become completely drained and falls out of range with their last remaining limb uncovered, they fall over dead for lack thereof. The expansion is limited-edition, requiring an additional campaign run before it may play FIITZT combat using the new mechanic - Bloodworks are not free or available at any time soon (as indicated by a "previously announced" date of November 2023).
